Amad: Manchester United to listen to offers for Ivorian youngster in January
Struggling Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly open to offers for young winger Amad Traore in the winter transfer window.
Amad has emerged as a target for Championship club side, Southampton, who are pushing to bring the highly-rated youngster to St. Mary’s in January.
Amad to exit Man United
According to a report from Teamtalk, the Saints have had the 21-year-old playmaker on their radar since this year’s summer transfer window.
However, an injury setback which has kept the Ivorian out of action since the start of the season ended whatever plans the relegated team had.
Southampton are now expected to return for their man this winter after he returned to first team training at Old Trafford.
The Saints, who currently sit fourth in the Championship, see Amad as a player who can help the club fight for an immediate return to the Premier League following demotion last season.
Amad has struggled to establish himself with the Red Devils but enjoyed a successful season on loan with Sunderland in the Championship last season.
He scored 14 goals for the Black Cats as they made it to the final playoffs in Wembley before losing out on promotion.
With his performance for Sunderland last season, Southampton would love to get the youngster on loan. Manchester United is said to be open to letting him leave on another loan.
Amad, who has played four matches for Cote d’Ivoire and was included in their provisional squad for the AFCON2023, joined the Red Devils from Atalanta BC in 2021 for a fee of 18 million pounds rising to 37 million.
