This achievement elevates him to 11th on the all-time list of Nigerian goalscorers in La Liga. Significantly, the strike moved Adams past legendary Nigerian forward Rashidi Yekini, who scored three goals in the Spanish league.

He also surpassed the tallies of Bartholomew Ogbeche (three) and Christantus Uche (five). Adams remains a considerable distance from the records held by Christopher Ohenhen (48 goals), Finidi George (43), and Ikechukwu Uche (43).

This season is already Adams' most prolific in La Liga, building on the momentum from his 2023-24 campaign with Montpellier, where he scored eight league goals.

Next, Sevilla will travel to face Mallorca on Monday, February 2. Meanwhile, Athletic Club will shift their focus to the Champions League, where they are set to host Sporting CP.
