Despite a history of underperforming on the continental stage, Uganda are determined to make a significant impact in Morocco.

The team faces a challenging path in Group C, having been drawn with three-time champions Nigeria, former winners Tunisia, and regional rivals Tanzania.

On paper, the Cranes are considered outsiders in comparison to the pedigree of Nigeria's Super Eagles and Tunisia's Carthage Eagles.

Lorenzen warns Nigeria

Lorenzen, who plays his club football in Malaysia with Muangthong United, believes his team has what it takes to defy expectations.

“Even against the big nations, it's always a good result. We've never gone under; they've always shown themselves in a good light," Lorenzen stated

"So, I think any team that comes won't be comfortable playing us. It's time to prove that again.”

Lorenzen, a recent debutant for the national team, is one of the key players coach Paul Put will rely on to provide an attacking spark for the Cranes.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles team arrived in Morocco yesterday in preparation for the AFCON competition.

They play their first game against Tanzania on Tuesday and will be looking to kickstart their campaign with a win.
