AFCON 2025: Oboabona sends messages to Super Eagles on how to win in Morocco

Former Nigerian international Godfrey Oboabona has advised the Super Eagles to approach all their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations matches with full intensity.

Nigeria has been placed in Group C alongside Tanzania, Uganda, and Tunisia. While the draw appears favorable on paper, Oboabona insists that success will only come through discipline, commitment, and respect for every rival.

Speaking exclusively to Completesports the former Sunshine Stars defender expressed confidence in Nigeria’s chances of topping the group but stressed that complacency could be costly.

“This is a good group for the Super Eagles, and I strongly believe they can secure the ticket,” Oboabona said.

He added, “But football has changed, there are no small teams anymore. Every country wants to qualify for AFCON.”

Oboabona emphasised that the mindset of the players will be important throughout the campaign, urging them to maintain focus regardless of the opposition.

“The Super Eagles must treat every match like a final. They need determination and concentration from start to finish, no matter who they are playing against. With the right attitude, qualification should not be a problem,” he added.
