AFCON 2025: Keep supporting us - Lookman pleads with Nigerians to continue backing Super Eagles

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has called for the support of Nigerians as the team continues its journey to win its fourth AFCON.

Lookman, who described Nigeria’s hard-fought 3–2 victory over Tunisia at the AFCON, as a major step forward for the team, praised their overall performance while urging fans to maintain their support.

The Atalanta star delivered a man-of-the-match display, registering one goal and two assists as Nigeria secured all three points in an entertaining Group C clash.

Speaking after the match, Lookman expressed satisfaction with the result and the team’s display.

“Three points on the board, so it’s a step in the right direction,” Lookman said.

He added, “We dominated from the first half to the second half. They had a spell where they scored two goals, but overall we were very good today.”

Despite Tunisia’s brief comeback, the Super Eagles showed resilience to see out the game and maintain their position at the top of the group.

Beyond his on-field heroics, Lookman also took time to acknowledge the importance of fan support, calling on Nigerians to continue backing the team as the tournament progresses.

“Keep supporting us, we really need you. Keep being behind us and supporting us,” he added.

The victory over Tunisia has already secured Nigeria’s place in the Round of 16, with one group match remaining.
