AFCON 2025: Atalanta hail Ademola Lookman after Nigeria reach Last 16

Italian Serie A side Atalanta publicly celebrated Ademola Lookman after the forward played a decisive role in Nigeria’s qualification for the round of 16 at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Lookman was one of the standout performers as the Super Eagles edged Tunisia 3–2 in a thrilling Group-stage encounter in Morocco.

The result mathematically secured Nigeria’s place in the knockout phase with a game to spare.

The 27-year-old attacker capped another impressive display by finding the back of the net against the North African side.

The goal was his second of the competition, having also scored in Nigeria’s opening match against Tanzania.

In recognition of his performance, Atalanta took to their official social media platforms to congratulate their player and acknowledge his contribution to Nigeria’s AFCON campaign.

“The Super Eagles fly into the AFCON 2025 round of 16 🦅👏 Ademola Lookman starred with a goal and two assists against Tunisia 🌟🇳🇬 #GoAtalantaGo,” the club wrote.

The message reflects the pride within the Bergamo-based club.

With qualification already secured, Nigeria will now turn their attention to their final group match against Uganda.
