AFCON 2025: Egypt vs Nigeria - Preview, kick off time and where to watch losers final

Nigeria's Super Eagles and Egypt's Pharaohs will put their semifinal disappointments behind them when they clash in the third-place playoff at the Africa Cup of Nations 2025. 

Both continental powerhouses, boasting 10 titles between them, fell short of reaching the final but have one last opportunity to salvage silverware and restore pride for their passionate fan bases. 

The match promises to be a compelling encounter between two of Africa's most decorated football nations, each desperate to avoid finishing the tournament as they arrived - empty-handed.

The Pharaohs were edged out 1–0 by Senegal in a tense semi-final. With Mohamed Salah spearheading the attack, Egypt is looking to bounce back and secure their first AFCON medal since 2010.

• Nigeria’s Road:

Eric Chelle and his Super Eagles suffered a agonising 4–2 penalty shootout loss to hosts Morocco after a 0–0 draw. 

Despite the defensive brilliance of Calvin Bassey and goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, Nigeria’s "most prolific attack" was finally silenced. 

But the Super Eagles will now look to Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman to find their spark one last time.
