Al-Nassr struck first in the 39th minute when João Félix cut inside and finished off a slick combination to make it 1–0. Five minutes later, in the 42nd minute, Wesley curled a precision finish into the top corner to put the hosts 2–0 up at the break.

Al-Khaleej opened the second half with renewed energy and pulled one back in the 47th minute through Murad Al Hawsawi, who drilled a powerful strike into the net following a transition move. That made it 2–1 and injected belief back into the visitors.

Al-Nassr regained control in the 77th minute when Sadio Mané curled home his finish, restoring the two-goal cushion at 3–1. Late in stoppage time, in the 90+6′ minute, Cristiano Ronaldo capped the night with an iconic bicycle kick.
