Everton's Ashley Young has confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season after his contract expires.

However, the 40-year-old has no plans to retire and is eager to continue playing professional football.

Young spoke about his future plans on talkSPORT Breakfast, saying, "I've not felt as fit as I have done for years. I just want to continue playing, however that may look, however that may seem, I'm not ready to retire."

He added, "I'm definitely going to carry on next season. Whichever way that is. I'm not getting any younger. I'm going to be 40 in July, but I feel as fit as when I was in my 20s."

Young expressed his desire to continue playing in the Premier League.

He hopes his next club will provide him with the opportunity to extend his remarkable Premier League career, which has seen him make 484 appearances to date.

He said, “I'm definitely going to continue. The stats are there - I've played 31 times this season and I feel I can keep going."

Since making his Premier League debut with Watford in 2006, he has consistently performed at the highest level, accumulating an impressive 484 appearances.
