30 Flamingos called up for 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup
The Nigerian U17 girls known as the Flamingos have started their preparations for this year's FIFA U17 Women's World Cup finals in Morocco.
Head coach of the Flamingos Bankole Olowookere has stepped up plans by inviting a total of 30 players to the camp.
The list of 30 players has Nine defenders, nine midfielders, nine attackers, and four goalkeepers.
Nigeria's Flamingos won a bronze medal at the 2022 edition and are aiming to have a better tournament this year.
They defeated South Africa and Algeria in the qualifying round to earn a spot in the inaugural 24-team FIFA U17 Women's World Cup finals.
The tournament will take place from October 17 to November 8 in four locations across two Moroccan cities.
The Al Barid Stadium, Mohamed VI Football Academy, Prince Héritier Moulay el-Hassan Sports Complex, and Prince Moulay Abdellah Sport Complex are the designated locations for the finals in Morocco.
All invited players are expected to resumed camp in Abuja on Sunday, September 7.
