Super Eagles celebrate Aghahowa and Oliseh connection against Senegal at AFCON 2000
On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, the Super Eagles put out a video that has gone viral on social media.

The Super Eagles video was a throwback to when Nigeria hosted the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The game highlighted featured the Super Eagles of Nigeria against the Terenga Lions of Senegal.

Played in front of 60,000 fans at the National Stadium in Lagos, it was a shocker when Khalilou Fadiga put Senegal in front as early as the 8th minute.
Time was running out but the Super Eagles were able to get an equaliser when Sunday Oliseh found Julius Aghahowa from deep to level the game in the 85th minute.
In extra-time, Aghahowa sealed the game as the Super Eagles won to set up a semifinal fixture with champions the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

The Super Eagles video came with a message that said, "The pass from #SundayOliseh , The goal from #JuliusAghahowa , remember the somersault celebration and the noise from fans at the National Stadium in Lagos...... #Nigeria vs #Senegal at #Afcon2000 had everything."
The Super Eagles will now return to action in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
