Nigerians regret Osimhen's injury in Saudi Arabia friendly costs Super Eagles in World Cup clash against Lesotho.

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, the Super Eagles of Nigeria launched their quest to secure a spot in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The Super Eagles World Cup qualifying match took place at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom against the Lesotho Crocodiles.

But the Super Eagles played a drab first half against Lesotho, suggesting that warm-up matches did not benefit them.

After a goalless first half and in the second half Tshwarelo Bereng found Motlomelo Mkhwanazi from a corner kick in the 56th minute as Lesotho took the lead.

Kelechi Iheanacho's corner kick, which Semi Ajayi headed in for the equalizer, gave the Super Eagles a boost towards the end of the game.

The rain-soaked Super Eagles were unable to secure a victory, and the match finished in a tie.
