She successfully underwent right foot surgery with photos going viral on social media.
The injury means that Plumptre could not feature in the Super Falcons' last fixture against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa.
Plumptre after surgery will now face an uphill challenge to be fit for the 2024 Olympics.
