Jimmy Butler: NBA star shines with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys trailer

In a new teaser to promote the forthcoming Bad Boys movie that will be released in theaters this summer, two of Miami's top sports players teamed up with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Jimmy Butler's uncertain future with the Miami Heat is alluded to in the trailer's first scene when he visits the home of Smith and Lawrence to watch television.

The Miami Police Department is the setting for all four of the Bad Boys films, including the upcoming Bad Boys: Ride or Die, in which Smith and Lawrence play police officers.

Following Butler's declaration that he wants to be a Bad Boy, Smith and Lawrence put him through training drills to determine whether he has what it takes.

When Lionel Messi returns at the conclusion to express his desire to join the team, Smith and Lawrence teasingly inform him that he is at the wrong house.

The trailer ends with an additional minute that includes a humor reel and Butler, Smith, and Lawrence outtakes.

After missing 27 games this season, including all five of the Heat's playoff games against the Boston Celtics, Butler's future with the team is in doubt.

Messi moved to South Florida after joining Inter Miami in July of 2023.

Miami athletes Dan Marino and John Salley have made cameos in previous films in the franchise.

Fans will find out when Bad Boys: Ride or Die hits theaters on June 7.

It's unclear at this time whether Butler and/or Messi will make an appearance in the film.
