Barcelona Legends win 3-0: Nigerian star missing, Puyol returns as captain against Asian Legends in Kyrgyzstan

Barcelona Legends return to action in an exhibition fixture that has gone viral.

This was the first game for Barcelona Legends since they suffered a 3-0 loss to Zambian Legends at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

On Wednesday, August 30 Barcelona Legends recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory against Asian Legends at the Dolon Omurzakov Stadium, Kyrgyzstan.

Some of the Barcelona Legends that played in the exhibition include Angoy, Belleti, Jorquera, Juan Carlos Rodríguez and Jon Adoni Goikoetxea

Former captain Carlos Puyol was also joined by Sorin, Sergi, Trashorras, Davids, Rivaldo, Giovani, Giuly, Saviola, Francesco Coco, Jofre and Roger Garcia,

In the 20th minute, Rivaldo and Guily combined to score the opener for Barcelona.

Juanpi Sorin at the edge of halftime scored a powerful strike to put Barcelona two goals up.

Belleti stole the ball in midfield and gave Argentinian Saviola a through ball to score the third and wrap up the game.

Former Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Gbenga Okunowo was not inaction for Barcelona Legends in Kyrgyzstan.

Okunowo, a former defender for Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona was in action in their last game against the Zambian Legends.

Okunowo had teammates like Xavi, Luis Figo, Rivaldo, and Luis Enrique, but he was never quite at their level.

It remains to be seen if Okonowo will return to the Barça Legends in their next exhibition fixture against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
