President-elect Bola Tinubu labels Lagos State-born Victor Osimhen Idan GanGan for leading Napoli to the Serie A title
Bola Tinubu, President-elect of Nigeria, has congratulated Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen on Napoli's Serie A title.
On Thursday, May 4 Osimhen who is 24 years old scored in the 52nd minute to help Napoli tie 1-1 with Udinese and win their first league championship in 33 years.
The group's previous championship came in 1990, thanks to late football great Diego Maradona's inspiration.
The incredible achievement spurred raucous celebrations among the club's players and supporters in Naples, southern Italy.

Osimhen has scored 23 goals to assist the team in accomplishing their goal, winning him praise from people all around the world.
Tinubu celebrates Osimhen
President-elect Tinubu stated in a tweet on Sunday that Osimhen had carried on Nigeria's proud legacy of outstanding footballing on the international scene.
Tinubu, who is set to be sworn in office as president on May 29, said, “I think we can all agree that there was another coronation in Italy where our son, Victor Osimhen, claimed the crown as the new King of Serie A!
“The real deal, or idán gangan as younger folks may describe him; Victor has continued the fine tradition of Nigeria’s footballing excellence on the global stage.
“We are all proud of him and wish him well in what is already a remarkable career.”
Osimhen was again on target for Napoli in their league fixture against Fiorentina on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
The goal comes after Nigerians branded Serie A racist for their post featuring Diego Maradona crowning Khvicha Kvaratskhelia king ahead of Osimhen.
