10 Nigerian reactions to Rihanna's Super Bowl Halftime Performance
In a thrilling encounter at the State Farm Stadium, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 on Sunday, February 12, in Super Bowl LVII.
The finals came down to the final seconds after the game got off to a frenetic pace on Sunday, with strong offensive displays from both teams.
Harrison Butker's 27-yard field goal with eight seconds to play gave the Chiefs their third Super Bowl in franchise history, and their second in the Patrick Mahomes era.
The Chiefs superstar quarterback, and the reigning two-time MVP, added to his trophy case by also earning his second Super Bowl MVP award.
However, the biggest talking point on Sunday was the return of music star Rihanna to the grandest stage.
Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show performance
In September 2022, the National Football League (NFL) confirmed Rihanna would be the headlining act at the biggest football event in America.
In the run-up to her performance, “Where Have You Been” began trending on Twitter, a reference to her 2011 smash hit and the teaser for the first-ever Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime show with fashion mogul.
Her 13-minute performance included Rihanna’s greatest hits such as “Rude Boy”, “Only Girl (In The World)”, “Work” and “Umbrella”.
She also shocked fans worldwide with the announcement of her second pregnancy as she bore her baby bump in style.
Riri is now expecting her second child with her boyfriend and rapper A$AP Rocky who was also present at the show largely cheering his partner during her performance.
However, Riri’s performance has triggered mixed reactions on social media, with fans seemingly divided on if the show was lit or not, while others reacted to the news of her pregnancy.
