F1 Monaco GP Full Results: Lando Norris cruises to victory in Monte-Carlo as Leclerc secures podium for Ferrari

Lando Norris strategically converted pole position into victory during Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix.

Lando Norris delivered a masterclass at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, securing a lights-to-flag victory that not only marked his first win in Monte Carlo but also tightened the championship race.

The McLaren driver expertly took advantage of pole by strategic nuance and minimal overtaking, to finish ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and teammate Oscar Piastri.

Noris strategy pays off in the streets of Monaco

The race introduced a new regulation mandating two pit stops, aiming to inject unpredictability into the traditionally processional Monaco circuit.

However, the narrow streets and limited overtaking opportunities meant that track position remained paramount.

Norris, starting from pole, maintained composure despite a significant lock-up at Sainte Devote and navigated through Virtual Safety Car periods and traffic to retain his lead.

Leclerc, motivated by the support of his home crowd, applied pressure throughout but ultimately settled for second place.

Piastri's third-place finish ensured a double podium for McLaren, highlighting the team's resurgence this season.

Norris’ victory on Sunday narrowed the gap to Piastri in the Drivers' Championship to just three points, intensifying the intra-team rivalry at McLaren.

Meanwhile, Red Bull's Max Verstappen opted for an alternate tyre strategy.

The reigning world champion briefly led the race but ultimately finished fourth after a late pit stop.

Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton secured fifth, while Mercedes’ George Russell faced challenges, including a drive-through penalty, to finish outside the points.

The race wasn't without incident.

Alpine's Pierre Gasly retired after a collision with Yuki Tsunoda, and Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso exited due to engine troubles.

Rookie Isack Hadjar impressed with a sixth-place finish, showcasing the depth of emerging talent in the field.

As the Formula 1 calendar progresses, the championship battle intensifies, with McLaren's drivers leading the charge.

The next race in Barcelona promises further excitement as teams and drivers vie for supremacy in this closely contested season.
