Italian GP Qualifying: Verstappen snatches pole position in Monza
Reigning Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull has clinched pole position for the Italian Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen secured pole position at the Monza circuit with a time of 1:18.792 minutes.

McLaren's British driver Lando Norris finished second, while his Australian teammate Oscar Piastri claimed third place.

Verstappen took pole by completing the fastest lap ever recorded in F1 history\, a record previously held by Lewis Hamilton.

Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton took fourth and fifth spots in qualifying.

However, Hamilton will start from tenth position due to a penalty.

Consequently, the third row of the grid will feature the Mercedes duo of George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Ahead of Hamilton in the top 10 will be Gabriel Bortoleto, Fernando Alonso, and Yuki Tsunoda.
