Verstappen cruised to victory in in Imola as Red Bull celebrates 400th Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen delivered a masterclass at the 2025 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, securing his second victory of the season and fourth consecutive win at Imola.

The Dutchman’s triumph also marked a significant milestone for Red Bull Racing, celebrating their 400th Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Starting from second on the grid, Verstappen executed a decisive move at the Tamburello chicane, overtaking pole-sitter Oscar Piastri to seize the lead.

Despite pressure from McLaren's Lando Norris in the closing stages, Verstappen maintained his composure to cross the finish line 0.725 seconds ahead.

McLaren secure double podium as Championship standings tighten

McLaren showcased their growing competitiveness with a double podium finish.

Lando Norris, starting fourth, capitalised on a late-race opportunity to overtake teammate Oscar Piastri, securing second place.

Piastri, despite leading in the early laps, settled for third after a strategic pit stop during a Virtual Safety Car period did not yield the desired advantage.

Verstappen's victory on Sunday has  narrowed the gap in the Drivers' Championship standings.

Oscar Piastri still leads with 146 points, followed by Lando Norris at 133, and Verstappen closing in with 124 points.

Meanwhile, in the Constructors' Championship, Red Bull maintains the lead with 268 points, while Ferrari and McLaren trail with 212 and 154 points, respectively.
