Alex Pereira has stated that he is capable of helping Nigerian mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya and his longtime adversary.
In the octagon, they battled one another twice with Pereira defeating Adesanya to earn the UFC Middleweight Title and win the opening bout at UFC 281.
Adesanya and Pereira
The rematch happened right away at UFC 287 and Adesanya regained the middleweight belt by stopping Pereira with a counterattack, exacting revenge.
Pereira advanced to light heavyweight, hence there was never a trilogy.
In one of the riskiest bouts of his career, Pereira will take on the Russian Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313.
Since the victory in Pereira, however, Adesanya has not had much success.
In his subsequent bout, he lost his title right away after losing to Sean Strickland.
When he faced Dricus Du Plessis, he had the chance to win the title again but he lost by submission in the fourth round.
Additionally, he has lost his last three fights, losing to Nassourdine Imavov via second-round knockout at UFC Saudi.
However, Pereira and Adesanya were seen together at UFC 312 when Du Plessis defeated Strickland.
Pereira has since stated that he is willing to train him with Adesanya indicating that he is prepared to accept that offer.
