He had a reasonably successful combat sports career, hitting multiple milestones in his early years.

In November 2008, he was ranked the seventh-best light heavyweight kickboxer in the United Kingdom by the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA).

In 2009, he gained his first championship when he won the British ISKA Full Contact Cruiserweight Championship in Derby.

As a result of that success, Andrew Tate was ranked number one in his division in Europe, living up to his kickboxing nickname, "King Cobra".

In 2011, Tate won his first ISKA world title in a rematch against Jean-Luc Benoit via knockout, having previously lost to Benoit by decision and in 2012, Tate lost the Enfusion championship tournament to Franci Grajš.

Before his loss, he was ranked the second-best light-heavyweight kickboxer in the world and in 2013, Tate won his second ISKA world title in a 12-round match against Vincent Petitjean, making him world champion in two weight divisions.

Andrew Tate's kickboxing record reflects his dominance with 76 wins in 85 fights with his final kickboxing match coming in December 2020, an easy against Cosmin Lingurar via second-round TKO.

Andrew Tate’s UFC record

Although Andrew Tate was a kickboxer who also dabbled into the world of Mixed Martial Arts MMA, he never fought in the UFC which is widely regarded as the highest level of the sport.

Tate believes he could have made it to the UFC if he took MMA more seriously, a thought he shared in regret a while ago.

"I try and watch the UFC but where I am in the Romania; it is hard but I catch bits of it," Tate said when discussing his fighting career with Sean O'Malley on his YouTube channel in 2022. "There is no doubt about it, if I was to redo my career and start again I would have started with MMA and look to get in the UFC.”

"People always say to me 'why didn't you go into MMA?'. Back then you had GLORY, K1 in China and Showtime but now that is all gone. There is now big shows that people care about. Everyone has to respect you in the UFC."

Tate has been involved in numerous controversies over the years due to his outspoken and often polarizing views on various subjects, including gender relations, politics, and social issues. His comments on social media and in the public eye have frequently sparked heated debates and backlash.

He is the face of toxic masculinity and his trademark controversial views on women and life in general have led to him getting banned on social media.

Andrew Tate was banned from Facebook and Instagram in August 2022 for violating Meta’s policies on "dangerous individuals". He had 4.7 million Instagram followers before his official account was deleted.

He was banned days later from YouTube for breaching hate speech rules and TikTok has also barred him from having an account.

Despite the bans, Andrew Tate remains a huge figure on social media as content posted under the hashtag Andrew Tate has been viewed billions of times.

Twitter also banned him in 2017 for his misogynistic views and hate speech but reinstated his account last month following Elon Musk’s takeover.

The polarising figure has also had his fair share of legal drama, making the headlines for all the wrong reasons as always.

On 29 December 2022, Andrew was arrested in Romania along with his brother Tristan on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group, prosecutors said.

The following day, a Romanian court ruled that Andrew Tate will remain in custody for 30 days after which their detention was then extended for another 30 days - until the end of February - and another 30 after that.

Tate's appeal against a judge's decision to keep him locked up until at least 29 March was rejected but he was subsequently released from jail on March 31 and placed under house arrest.

He has a younger brother, Tristan and a sister Janine. He was raised in Chicago, Illinois and Goshen, Indiana. After his parents divorced, his mother took both brothers to England where he was raised in the Christian faith.

Even though he had been a kickboxer since 2005, Andrew Tate first attained fame and mainstream attention in 2016 when he appeared on the British reality show Big Brother.

While appearing on the show, he came under scrutiny for having made homophobic and racist comments on Twitter in the past. He was removed from the show after six days, with producers citing a video apparently showing him hitting a woman with a belt.

Tate and the woman said that they were friends and that the actions in the video were consensual.
