New Zealand professional mixed martial artist of Nigerian descent Israel Adesanya continues his preparation for a return to the Octagon.

The 33-year-old Adesanya was knocked out by Brazilian professional mixed martial artist Alexsandro Pereira in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 276 main event at Madison Square Garden in New York, United States of America (USA).

Adesanya previously lost twice to Pereira twice in kickboxing events back in 2015 and 2016.

Ahead of the rematch against Pereira, Adesanya has stepped up preparations with the aim to get a different result.

Adesanya's intense preparation for Pereira's rematch

Adesanya took to his official YouTube to give fans a detailed look at his preparation process for the rematch against Pereira.

In the video, Adesanya starts off by explaining that he is set to hurt his opponent to reclaim the UFC Middleweight title.

He starts off in the gym working with several sparring partners and using different techniques to take out his opponents.

Preparing for the fight, Adesanya's trainer explains that they are making efforts to ensure that Pereira cannot produce another comeback victory.

Adesanya was ahead of the judges' scorecard before a barrage of punches by Pereira ended the fight.

The Stylebender known for his incredible striking game showcased some new grappling techniques to submit his sparring partners.

After an endurance run and warming up in the hot pool, Adesanya explained that he has violent intentions for the rematch against Pereira.

He said, "Somebody gonna get hurt real bad. somebody is not going to be me.

"Somebody gonna get hurt real bad."

Adesanya then had a long conversation with his performance coach who explained the importance of staying poised in the contest.

The training was under the water as he was taught to deal with stress and pressure with the aim of applying it in the fight against Pereira.

Speaking on the activity Adesanya said, "Who wants to be in that cage. I've done this to people before on the ring.

"So I can smell it it's like you can just feel it like oh he doesn't want to be here.

"There's a part there's sometimes in a fight or you find a guy and it's like he's ready to go, he's ready to check out so I'm just gonna open the door for him."

Adesanya aims to reclaim the Middleweight belt in a rematch against Pereria scheduled for the main event of UFC 287 at the Miami-Dade Arena in Florida, United States on Saturday, April 9, 2023.
