Former Super Eagles of Nigeria captain Sunday Oliseh has sent a strong warning to head coach Eric Chelle over squad selection.
Sunday Oliseh has voiced strong criticism over the practice of team captains not starting matches, specifically pointing to Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa, who has been on the bench for the past two years until his recent return for the 2025 Unity Cup.
Speaking on Channel Sports on Sunday, Oliseh labeled the trend “an anomaly” and argued that a captain must lead from the pitch.
