Why I left Man City to join newly-promoted club — Kyle Walker explains shock move
Burnley have secured the signing of Manchester City defender Kyle Walker for up to £5 million. The experienced Premier League star, who was in the final year of his City contract, has inked a two-year deal with the newly promoted club.
Walker joins Burnley’s summer signings, including Max Weiss, Quilindschy Hartman, Axel Tuanzebe, and Loum Tchouana, with loan deals for Bashir Humphreys, Marcus Edwards, Zian Flemming, and Jaidon Anthony also made permanent.
After a loan spell at AC Milan last season, where he made 16 appearances, Milan opted not to buy him. Leaving City after an eight-year stint with 17 trophies, Walker explained the move, saying.
“I’m delighted to be here. When I spoke to Scott Parker and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at.
