Transfer experts David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano have revealed that the striker’s high salary demands and concerns about his character have deterred English clubs.

“Why is the deal for Victor Osimhen not advancing? Because of the salary. That’s the crucial point. No English club is ready to put €12 million net for Victor Osimhen,” Romano said.

What Engin said

Given English tax laws, the alleged €12 million net would amount to about €19-20 million for Premier League clubs, taking him to among the top earners in the division. But Engin explains that Galatasaray do not have that headache, as there are no such tax deductions in Turkey.

“Osimhen's place is irreplaceable. I think Osimhen is better than Icardi. Yunus and Barış can go and get a better player, but Osimhen is different,” he said, per GsGazette.

"According to the last message I received, Osimhen's chances of staying at Galatasaray are 50-60%. If he leaves next season and doesn't perform as well as he used to, he may come back in January. You never know.

“The messages from Turkey and Italy are like this. Don't ask too much about the details. Sponsors and businessmen are preparing the transfer fee. There is a tax system in Europe. Osimhen can't get the money he will earn here in Europe. There is no deduction in Türkiye."

However, according to Evrenozmen, players in the Super League face a 20% withholding tax on their earnings.
