Arsenal extended Ben White's contract on Wednesday securing the versatile defender's long-term commitment, pending regulatory approval.

Ben White has inked a new contract with Arsenal, solidifying his commitment to the club for the long term.

Since his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2021, White has become an integral part of the team featuring prominently in 122 appearances across all competitions.

Noteworthy for his adaptability on the field, White initially made his mark in central defense before seamlessly transitioning into the right-back role, where he showcased his skills in every Premier League match last season.

His recent performances underscore his value, with a goal in the Premier League victory against Sheffield United marking Arsenal's historic 10,000th goal and two crucial assists in the 2-1 triumph over Brentford.

The 26-year-old's impact extends beyond his defensive duties, as evidenced by his consistent presence on the pitch since the January break, during which Arsenal conceded a mere five goals in 10 matches.

White's journey to Arsenal saw him develop his talents at Brighton, with loan spells at Newport County, Peterborough United, and a notable stint at Leeds United, where he earned recognition as the club's Young Player of the Year during their Championship-winning campaign in 2019/20.

Expressing his delight at securing White's services for the foreseeable future, Arsenal's Sporting Director, Edu, emphasized the defender's invaluable contributions since joining the club.

"We are so happy to have completed a new long-term contract with Ben," Edu remarked.

"Since Ben joined us, his contribution and commitment have been of such high quality. Our supporters love him, we love him, and we look forward to enjoying Ben’s performances with us for years to come."

Manager Mikel Arteta echoed these sentiments, praising White's professionalism, winning mentality, and leadership qualities.

"It’s great news that Ben is committing his future to the club," Arteta said. "Ben is a key player for us, a top professional with a winning mentality, and one of the guys who leads by example every day."

In addition to his on-field prowess, White's character and positive attitude have endeared him to teammates and fans alike, making him a valuable asset both on and off the pitch.

As Arsenal looks ahead to the future, White's renewal provides a solid foundation upon which the club can build and strive for success in the seasons to come.

While the new contract is pending regulatory approval, Arsenal supporters can rest assured that Ben White will continue to play a pivotal role in the team's pursuit of glory, exemplifying the club's values with his dedication and talent.
