Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat has announce squad for four-nations tournament, blending local and international talent for upcoming fixtures in Malawi.

Harambee Stars Coach Engin Firat has unveiled the provisional squad for the eagerly anticipated four-nations tournament scheduled to take place from March 18 to March 26, 2024, in Malawi. 

Leading the foreign-based contingent are celebrated figures such as Captain Michael Olunga, the prolific striker playing for Duhail in Oman, Ayub Timbe from Sebail in Azerbaijan, and Joseph Okumu, the defensive stalwart from Reims in France. 

They are joined by notable names like Johnstone Omurwa, Eric Ouma, Amos Nondi, Richard Odada, and Teddy Akumu, who have all carved niches for themselves at their respective clubs.

In a thrilling revelation, Alphonce Omija receives his first senior national team call-up after impressing in the U17 junior team.

Alongside Omija, newcomers Shariff Musa, Bonphas Munyasa, Chris Erambo, and Kaycie Odhiambo have also been handed their maiden national team call-ups adding fresh energy and enthusiasm to the squad.

The return of John Avire to the national team fold adds an extra layer of intrigue and excitement. 

Avire’s comeback is anticipated to bolster the team’s attacking options and provide additional firepower upfront, complementing the skills of Michael Olunga and the other forwards.

The four-nation tournament, featuring Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe, not only offers the Harambee Stars a platform to gel and fine-tune their tactics but also serves as crucial preparation for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2025 AFCON qualifying campaigns.
