However, following a standout performance in Atalanta's 3-0 Champions League victory against Eintracht Frankfurt, the winger has made comments that appear to put an end to the transfer rumours.

The Super Eagles star is gradually getting back to his best, having scored and assisted in Atalanta’s win over Frankfurt.

Lookman speaks on his future

Speaking to Sky Sport, Lookman, whose contract with the Serie A club runs until June 2027, addressed the summer transfer saga that was said to have created friction between him and the club's management.

The Super Eagles star emphasised that his attention is now solely on Atalanta's goals under new head coach Raffaele Palladino.

"What happened in the summer is in the past. Some people know exactly what happened, others don’t.

“What’s certain is that right now I’m focused on where I am now and on winning as many games as possible with Atalanta," Lookman stated.

The forward also praised the tactical approach of Palladino, who took over from Ivan Juric this season, noting that the new manager's style complements his own game.

Ademola Lookman scored one and assisted another goal for Atalanta in the UCL.

"He wants to play open and entertaining football, giving plenty of space to attack," Lookman added. "He’s determined and, like all of us players, he’s here to win every game. Tonight we proved our worth."

This return to form is seen as a significant positive for Nigeria's Super Eagles as they prepare for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
