Barcelona's head coach Hansi Flick reacted to their UCL semi-final exit to Inter.

Barcelona's head coach, Hansi Flick, expressed mixed emotions as his side were dumped out of the Champions League semi-final by a 7-6 aggregate defeat to Inter.

The second-leg at the Giuseppe Meazza mirrored the first, with a 3-3 draw at halftime. However, Davide Frattesi scored a beauty in extra time to send Simone Inzaghi’s side to the final.

What Hansi Flick said

The German tactician expressed his disappointment in the outcome but praised his team for their effort. He also congratulated the victors, Inter.

"I'm very disappointed that we're out - but I'm not disappointed about the performance of my team. They tried everything,” Flick said, per the BBC

"We're out, but next year we'll start again and we'll make our fans, the club and everyone around us happy. They [Inter] are a really good team, a strong team who defend well but also they have a really good striker.”

However, he also spoke about the controversial refereeing calls against his team, saying that the 50/50 calls went against them.

"In the second half we were really good. I don't want to speak about the referee but every 50/50 decision was for them. We gave everything but in the end it was like that and that's what made me a bit sad."

Meanwhile, it's back to LALIGA action for Barcelona, as they face Real Madrid in the El Clasico this weekend. A defeat would reduce their margin at the top of the log to a lone point, setting up a frenetic end to the league campaign.
