Arsenal's star winger Bukayo Saka has expressed frustration over a trophyless season but remains optimistic about the Gunners' future, believing they will return stronger when the Premier League resumes in August.
Despite injuries sidelining him for three months during Arsenal’s failed title challenge, the 23-year-old England international is focused on growth.
Saka eager to bounce back for Arsenal after frustrating year
“It’s been a bit of a frustrating year with injuries,” Saka admitted.
“We all know there’s a lot of speculation around us and who we’re signing this summer. But once that’s all done at the end of the summer, the relationships we need to work on, we’ll work on — at the training ground, at the Emirates, and wherever we’re playing. We will be stronger. I have no doubts.”
Saka also reflected on his personal development, stating, “Each year I’ve developed and improved. I’ve still got a bit of a way to go as well. I need to keep on working hard, and with all the games I’m playing and the experiences I’m gaining in tournaments, it’s only going to make me better.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, and are reportedly closing in on Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres and Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.
After three seasons of finishing in second place, the target for Saka and the Gunners is to finally lift the Premier League title for the first time since 2004.
