'We need Isak or Osimhen' — Chelsea fans back Mikel Obi, beg for new striker

Victor Osimhen's stock continues to rise, and after a failed deadline-day move to Chelsea last summer, the Nigerian striker took his business to Galatasaray and has been on fire.

While Chelsea have been impressive this season, it is clear they lack the killer instinct and consistency in front of goal as the Blues' main striker Nicolas Jackson continues to miss easy chances.

Jackson has 9 league goals this season but has failed to turn up in the most important moments, a key reason for Chelsea's inability to keep up with Liverpool at the summit.

In a recent interview, Chelsea and Nigerian legend Mikel Obi stressed the club's need to sign a new and more consistent striker, saying;

"We are creating chances, we are still playing well, we are still doing the right things but we’re not clinical enough, we’re not scoring goals," Mikel said on The Obi One Podcast.

"If we had Victor Osimhen or the guy from Sporting, Viktor Gyokeres, trust me, we’d still be competing for the Premier League," Mikel stated.

While a few fans accused Mikel Obi of criticising their star striker, the majority of the fanbase agreed that a pure goalscorer was required.
