We are worried anytime Osimhen plays for Nigeria — Galatasaray coach
Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has admitted that they get worried whenever the international break comes around and Victor Osimhen goes off with the Super Eagles.
The Cim-Bom quadrupled their previous transfer record to land Osimhen from Napoli in the summer. However, he has already missed seven games this season for club and country due to injury.
What Okan Buruk said
Osimhen's injuries this season have been associated with the international break. He is currently on Super Eagles duty, preparing for the final World Cup qualifier game against the Benin Republic.
While Super Eagles fans will hope for Osimhen to give his 100% as usual to deliver a result against the Cheetahs, which would guarantee qualification, fans in Turkey are praying he comes back in one piece.
Buruk shares those sentiments and was honest about his feelings, admitting to reporters that he dreads whenever Osimhen leaves to compete for Nigeria.
"Well, we're starting to get scared when we send Osimhen off,” he said, per ,. “Players playing in Africa have fears because of the pitch conditions and the intensity of the matches.
“We finished the match this time, but there was a problem with the return plane. He will complete the second match safely and return. We're experiencing this for many of our players."
Osimhen's latest injury came against Rwanda during the last international window, after which he missed up to a month of action for Cim-Bom.
