Victor Osimhen: Manchester United make first contact to sign Super Eagles goal-machine

Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with the representatives of Galatasaray's star striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports.

The 26-year-old Nigerian, currently on loan from Napoli, has been a revelation in Istanbul, scoring an impressive 33 goals and providing 8 assists in 37 matches across all competitions.

Osimhen has settled seamlessly at Galatasaray, but his loan deal lacks a permanent transfer option, and he’s made it clear he wants to leave Napoli for good.

The Premier League is his preferred destination, and Manchester United are among the few clubs capable of matching his €12m-a-year salary demands. Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, seem to be out of the race but Chelsea, Juventus and clubs from Saudi Arabia are still in the hunt.

Amorim's United are eager to revamp their attack, with summer signings Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee yet to live up to their hefty price tags, and unlikely to offer enough goals to lift the club into title contention.

Foot Mercato reports that the Red Devils have held talks with Osimhen’s camp, with Napoli expected to demand over €75m to let their star forward go.
