LALIGA side Valencia reportedly lost sponsorship due to the racist insults aimed at Vinicius at the Mestalla.

The racist remarks directed towards Vinicius at the Mestalla had consequences, as Valencia reportedly lost their shirt sponsor as a result of the event.

The Real Madrid winger suffered racial insults in Los Blancos' defeat to Los Che at the Mestalla last month.

The incident had a major blowback on the Spanish football institution, exposing the flaws in their efforts against racism.

Following the incident, sections of the Mestalla were closed—although appealed; LALIGA went to court to request more power to tackle racism; and the RFEF started a campaign against racism. Spain and Brazil are collaborating on a campaign as well.

The world continues to react to the incident, with FIFA naming the winger as head of a committee of footballers to tackle racism.

And now, it has surfaced that Valencia's shirt sponsor, CAZOO, reportedly took advantage of the racist abuse against Vinicius at the Mestalla to terminate their contract with the Che team.

According to Relevo, the company previously tried to get out of its two-year deal with the club, which pays €4 million annually.

They signed the deal in 2022 and wanted to back out after a season, due to internal changes in the organisation.

Valencia reportedly refused, demanding full payment should CAZOO try to break the agreement. The Bat club won the legal battle, per the report, but things changed following the Vinicius issue.

Following the event, the car retailing company reportedly pointed out to the club that the racist incident breached one of the clauses in their agreement, as they did not want to be associated with it.

This allegedly forced Valencia to the negotiating table, causing them to agree to terminate the contract for €1 million.
