Transfer News: Latest update on Konate and Real Madrid

Real Madrid are reportedly confident that Ibrahima Konate will not sign a contract renewal at Liverpool. Los Merengues believe the France international wants to join them, and they are preparing to make him their main defensive signing next summer. 

As Pulse Sports reported, Konate’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he has failed to sign what the Reds have put in front of him. 

Konate is believed to be unhappy with Liverpool's financial offer. He is also being courted by Real Madrid, as part of their current strategy of acquiring elite talent upon contract expiration.. A tactic which has seen them snap up Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool. 

According to The Athletic, the Real Madrid hierarchy know that Konate wants them, and they will look to sign him in January or for free next summer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has revealed how Kylian Mbappe reached out to him following Real Madrid's interest.

The defender recently addressed the speculation in an interview with Telefoot, playfully referencing his teammate Kylian Mbappe, who has already made the move to the Bernabeu.
