Transfer News: Manchester City slap £75m price tag on star player amid LaLiga interest
LaLiga side Atletico Madrid have reportedly identified Manchester City's Julian Alvarez as the perfect replacement for Alvaro Morata, who completed a move to AC Milan last week.
Diego Simeone is in desperate need of a goalscorer, and Alvarez's impressive record of 36 goals and 18 assists in 103 appearances for Man City across all competitions makes him an attractive target.
Alvarez to leave Manchester City?
Despite playing a significant number of games in his two seasons under Pep Guardiola, Alvarez remains second choice to Erling Haaland for the preferred number 9 position.
Previously, the Argentine striker stated that he was "comfortable and happy at City", but it now appears that he is open to a departure this summer.
In fact, he has allegedly demanded that Man City set a 'logical' asking price for potential suitors.

However, The Athletic claim City will not allow him to leave on the cheap. The English champions want around £75in for the 24-year-old, and are unlikely to budge in their stance.
Alvarez's future is uncertain, especially as he prepares to represent Argentina at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which means he will miss the majority of Man City's pre-season, including their tour of the United States.
