The opening exchange was basically attack versus defence, as Arsenal dominated possession with Tottenham soaking up the pressure.

Viktor Gyökeres went close with a header, and Leandro Trossard had an effort from range. fly past the post.

Gyökeres then hit an attempt that flashed marginally wide, before the match was halted due to a communication fault for the officials.

Spurs looked to throw punches of their own but went behind just after the half-hour mark when Bukayo Saka showed determination to get past Sarr and find Eberechi Eze, who got a touch to finish.

Spurs responded within 24 seconds of the restart through Randal Kolo Muani, who dispossessed Declan Rice and fired past David Raya. 

The second half began frantically, and Arsenal restored their lead two minutes in. Gyökeres emphatically fired past Vicario to silence the home support. Kolo Muani momentarily thought he had provided another rapid response with a clinical finish, but the striker’s goal was ruled out for a push on Gabriel Magalhaes.

Two more goals, one from Eze, who took his personal tally to 5 goals in two North London derbies, and the icing on the cake from Gyokeres, helped Arsenal restore their five-point gap over Manchester City.
