‘That’s why Messi is very clear’ - Fans slam Ronaldo for equating Portugal’s Euros with Argentina’s World Cup

Portugal secured a 2-0 win over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League, with Cristiano Ronaldo reaching a remarkable feat.

The football icon from Portugal surpassed Lionel Messi to score his 900th goal in his football career. 

Following his new record, Ronaldo made a statement after Portugal’s win that made fans have a go at him.

Ronaldo made a statement, comparing his Euro 2016 win to that of Messi’s World Cup trophy.

According to Fabrizio on X, Ronaldo said, "Portugal winning the Euros is the equivalent of winning the World Cup. 

“I've already won two trophies for Portugal that I really wanted, so I'm not motivated by that [World Cup]."

This comment led to a lot of reactions on X as fans blasted the five-time Ballon d’Or winner for his comparison.

Fans were displeased with Ronaldo on social media and were not having his take on comparing the Euro with the World Cup.
