For her, it's a powerful blend of national pride, immense pressure, and the responsibility of upholding Nigeria's rich legacy in women's football.

The Netherlands-born star, is eager to experience the unique atmosphere of African continental competition.

"It’s very special," Echegini told CAFOnline.

She continued, "I’ve been in major international competitions, but I haven’t played in an WAFCON yet. This will be my first time, and I’m very excited. I watched the last edition two years ago and already thought: ‘One day, it’ll be my turn.’ Now that moment is here."

"It’s a different atmosphere, a different energy. Representing my country on the African continent is a huge honor. The Women’s AFCON is about history, culture, emotion. I can’t wait to live it from the inside,” She concluded

Nigeria, with a record nine WAFCON titles, hasn't lifted the trophy since 2018. South Africa's triumph in 2023 ended Nigeria's long-standing dominance, placing renewed pressure on the Super Falcons.

The WAFCON will kickoff on July 5th in Rabat, as the Super Falcons embark on their mission to secure a record-extending 10th WAFCON title in Morocco.
