Barcelona and Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala once played in China before moving to Europe.

It was a moment of joy and jubilation for the people of Chengdu, China as Nigeria Super Falcons’ star, Asisat Oshoala scored against Australia in the FIFA Women’s World Cup second group game.

Nigeria defeated co-hosts Australia in a five-goal thriller on Thursday.

The Super Falcons produced an excellent display to complete a come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Matildas on Thursday at Suncorp Stadium, Australia.

Uchenna Kalu, Osinachi Ohale and Asisat Oshoala were on the scoresheet for the Super Falcons.

In what was a feisty encounter, Nigeria had to weather the barrage of attacks by the Austrailian side who were missing Chelsea star Sam Kerr.

Despite missing the Chelsea striker and two other key players, the Matildas enjoyed plenty of possession and kept Nigeria on the back foot for large spells.

Asisat Oshoala Relationship with China

Oshoala joined Chinese club Dalian in 2017. During her debut season, she scored 12 goals helping Dalian Quanjian win the league championship.
