Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye will have surgery after suffering a severe injury to his right wrist.

The goalkeeper has been in good form for his team despite his team being 10th on the Serie A league table.

Maduka was in action for Udinese in their previous Serie A game, in which they lost 2-0 to Genoa.

However, he is set to miss the clash against Monza, with the club confirming his absence from the team.

Okoye to undergo surgery

Udinese have confirmed that Okoye will undergo surgery on his finger after breaking it in their previous game

Udinese revealed on Saturday that the 24-year-old's wrist's vital structure, the scapholunate ligament, was torn during a recent game.

He will miss their next Serie A match against Monza due to this injury, and he may be sidelined for a lengthy time.

To repair the ligament and restore wrist functionality, medical authorities have advised prompt surgical intervention.

Although Udinese has not provided a timeframe for recovery, recuperation from such injuries usually takes eight to twelve weeks.
