The club announced the award on X, stating, “Calvin Bassey and Harry Wilson are your Player and Goal of the Season winners for 2024/25.”

Bassey edged out his Nigerian international teammate Alex Iwobi, who enjoyed a career-best season with nine goals and six assists in the Premier League.

Despite Iwobi’s impressive attacking numbers, Bassey secured the top honour comfortably, receiving 39.6% of the final votes.

This was an improvement for Bassey, who finished second in voting during his debut season at Fulham.

This time, he outpolled strong contenders including Iwobi (21.5%), Antonee Robinson (19.9%), Bernd Leno (10.9%), and Saša Lukić (8.1%).

Over the season, Bassey was a consistent presence in Fulham’s defence, featuring in 35 Premier League games and missing just three as the club amassed a record points haul.

Beyond his defensive solidity, he made vital contributions with two important goal, scoring the winner at home against Nottingham Forest and the opening goal in Fulham’s memorable Emirates FA Cup win at Old Trafford.

Bassey’s award shows his key role in Fulham’s impressive campaign and cements his status as one of the Premier League’s standout defenders.

While he prepares for the new season, the Super Eagles international will look to build on this recognition and continue his upward trajectory both for club and country.
