Steven Gerrard, a former manager of Aston Villa and a legendary member of Liverpool, is supposedly in line to take over as Al Ettifaq manager.

The Englishman has been jobless since being fired by Aston Villa in October of last year due to subpar performance.

The former Rangers manager made a name for himself after helping the Scottish side win the league in 2021 before joining Aston Villa.

After one and a half years with Aston Villa, he was sacked by the management for poor performance with the club languishing in the relegation zone.

However, according to reports, he is set to become Al Ettifaq's new manager and will join the likes of Benzema and Kante in Saudi Arabia.

Gerrard arrives in Saudi Arabia

Steven Gerrard has touched down in Saudi Arabia as he prepares to sign a deal to become Al-Ettifaq's new manager.

As he prepares to accept the Al-Ettifaq position, Gerrard has reportedly landed in Saudi Arabia, according to writer Romain Molina on Twitter as reported by Daily Mail.

The 43-year-old name came up for the role over the weekend, and it now seems like he will soon be hired.

Given that Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January, Gerrard could be the most well-known person to move to Saudi Arabia.

Benzema and Kante move to Saudi Arabia

N'Golo Kante of Chelsea could join Karim Benzema, who left Real Madrid for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabian teams are currently recruiting European stars to the league with Benzema joining Al-Ittihad and Kante also set to make a move to the same club.

Cristiano Ronaldo who joined Al Narssr in January might have opened the way for other players to move to Saudi Arabia.

Lionel Messi was also offered a mega deal to move to Al-Hilal but instead opted for Inter Miami in the USA.

The Saudi Arabian clubs are not stopping at bringing only Benzema and Kante but are also going for other European big-name players ahead of the new season.
