The Premier League side have been slammed for their behaviour while negotiating a transfer for defender Malang Sarr

Le Havre AC's Sporting Director, Matthieu Bodmer, has expressed his frustration and disappointment after the club's unsuccessful attempt to secure the signing of Chelsea's 25-year-old center-back, Malang Sarr.

Despite Le Havre's optimism about sealing the deal, negotiations ultimately fell apart, leaving Sarr in a challenging situation.

Le Havre's Confidence in Signing Sarr

Le Havre AC had been confident in their pursuit of Malang Sarr, who, after a loan spell at AS Monaco, had not made a single appearance for Chelsea in the current season. The French club had high hopes of adding Sarr to their roster.

Efforts were made to terminate Sarr's contract with Chelsea, which was set to run until the end of the 2024/25 season. Deadline day discussions were held between the parties, but the situation took an unexpected turn.

Chelsea's Changing Offers

According to reports from Foot Mercato, Chelsea and Malang Sarr initially reached an agreement to terminate his contract. However, Chelsea later presented a different offer, which Sarr reportedly accepted. This sudden change in terms complicated the transfer process.

Meanwhile, Malang Sarr had traveled to Le Havre and completed his medical examinations, with all parties expecting a smooth transfer. However, Chelsea failed to submit the necessary documents before the deadline, leaving Sarr stranded in France. This last-minute hiccup led to Sarr having to return to the UK.

Sarr's Frustration and Future

Malang Sarr, understandably irritated by the collapsed move, now finds himself in a challenging situation. Despite not featuring in Mauricio Pochettino's plans at Chelsea, he is resigned to another six months without regular first-team football. This unexpected turn of events has left the player and Le Havre AC disappointed.

In a strong statement, Le Havre's Sporting Director, Matthieu Bodmer, expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation, stating, "It is shameful what they did to him." The failed transfer has undoubtedly left a bitter taste for all parties involved, with Sarr's future now uncertain.
