Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo received a straight red card in the first-half, serving as the turning point in the Blaugrana’s 4-1 defeat to PSG on the night.

Barca's hopes for a Champions League semi-final berth were dashed in a gripping encounter against Paris Saint-Germain. Despite an early lead in the second leg provided by Raphinha's strike, the Catalan side faced a dramatic turn of events following Araujo's costly red card. The Uruguayan defender's challenge on Bradley Barcola saw him sent off, altering the course of the game significantly. 

The Spanish side went on to concede four goals with a man down, losing 6-4 on aggregate.

In a heartfelt statement, the 25-year-old acknowledged the disappointment his actions brought upon the fans. He extended gratitude to those who stood by him, including teammates who fought tirelessly on the field and supporters who maintained unwavering belief in the team's potential. 

The 25-year-old wrote on X: "The football that gave me so much joy, now hits me hard. I thank all those who are unconditionally by my side, my teammates who left everything on the field, and the fans who believed in this team until the end. I am very sorry not to give you this joy. We will try again. Força Barça, forever! God in control."
