The new head coach is under more pressure than ever to perform well before the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March 2025.
Nigeria currently has three points from four games, good for fifth place in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria could lose out on the World Cup, thus Chelle's first goal would be to qualify for the competition in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
