Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham in August 2023 on a contract running until 30 June 2027. Recently, it was revealed that he has a €65 million release clause which could allow him to leave the Bavarian side next summer.
Barcelona's interest
As Pulse Sports reported, the Blaugrana have been linked with a few strikers in recent weeks, after it became public that they do not intend to renew Robert Lewandowski's contract.
Unrealistic names like Erling Haaland, aspirational ones like Julian Alvarez and Victor Osimhen and feasible options like Karl-Etta Eyong and Fisnik Asllani have been floated around.
According to Sport, Kane's name has been floated around, with Barcelona considering repeating the trick. They signed Lewandowski from the Bavarians despite his advanced age, and are discussing doing the same with Kane.
Kane at Bayern Munich
Kane has been extraordinary, reaching an incredible 100 goals in 104 games for Bayern back in September 2025, underpinning a near-unprecedented scoring rate since his arrival.
Kane has shown no sign of slowing down, sparking interest from clubs in the Premier League, who are looking to entice the England international with a return home and the chance to break Alan Shearer’s record.
Top teams in Europe like Barcelona, as well as big spenders from the Saudi Pro League, are also interested. Bayern, however, publicly want to keep him and have opened talks over his future while monitoring their squad planning, with club executives describing contract-extension discussions as a priority to tie Kane beyond 2027.
