We could be seeing Ademola Lookman in the Premier League soon

Ademola Lookman’s transfer saga has taken another dramatic turn, as the Nigerian forward and his entourage scramble to secure a move away from Atalanta.

With his dream switch to Inter now dead in the water, the 27-year-old has turned his attention back to the Premier League, reportedly reaching out to some of England’s biggest clubs in a bid to revive his career.

Inter collapse leaves Lookman stranded

The chaos began when Inter tabled two bids, the highest worth €45m, including add-ons, for Lookman earlier this summer.

Atalanta rejected the bids, reminding the player that while he could leave, they would only sanction a move abroad, refusing to strengthen a domestic rival.

Ademola Lookman checked in at Atalanta earlier last month but has handed in a transfer request.

Frustrated by the block on his move, Lookman took matters into his own hands, skipping pre-season training for weeks in protest.

His strike, however, failed to move negotiations forward, and Inter eventually pulled the plug on their pursuit. The result left the forward sidelined, forced to return to Atalanta training this week but kept apart from the rest of Ivan Juric’s squad.

Lookman exploring Premier League options

With time running out before the transfer window closes, Lookman’s representatives are now pushing hard for a return to English football.

According to reports, his entourage has contacted Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Aston Villa in the last 48 hours to test the waters.

Arsenal have monitored him in previous summers but have yet to submit a concrete proposal. The Nigeria international, who turns 28 in October, remains an attractive option after a prolific 2024/25 campaign where he registered 20 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances.

Still, whether any of England’s elite are willing to gamble on him in the middle of a standoff with Atalanta remains to be seen.
