Remo stars are the champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League

Remo Stars have made history becoming the first south west club to win the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in 25 years since Julius Berger claimed the title in 2000.

The Ikenne based club sealed their win after defeating Niger Tornadoes 1-0 at the Remo stars stadium on Sunday.

Currently leading the NPFL table, Remo Stars have been in scintillating form this season.

The win extends beyond the team itself, as it would bring an end to a quarter-century drought without a league title for the Southwest region.

Remo Stars' coach, Daniel Ogunmodede who doubled as the Super Eagles assistant coach has been instrumental in guiding the team to this historic achievement.

The Sky Blue Boys currently leading the league table with 68 points, 10 points ahead of second place Rivers United.
